Getting to eat at McDonalds was definitely a treat. After not seeing an American restaurant for over 10months it felt so weird to see a McDonalds! It wouldn't be my first choice in America but just to be at an American fast food place was exciting. Needless to say South Africa isn't really like Africa...it's pretty much a 'little America' (just not as good :) It was so strange to see white people and not be stared at constantly! And to drive on real highways with traffic lights and everything...it was amazing!
We also got to go to a real mall! I had some of the best Italian ice cream ever there! It has been so long since I have had good ice cream. It is very expensive to buy in Uganda and not as good as back home. There aren't very many flavors to choose from and especially no chocolate here :(
